How I'm building and managing my digital garden
These are my first thoughts about the process I'll be using to build my digital garden. After spending some time playing around with building a digital garden in both Obsidian & Roam, I've decided to keep it in Roam for a couple of different reasons:
Friction Free Environments - Roam is where all my notes live and I know I would not be able to build a long term digital garden if I was transferring notes between two systems. I need something that is easy to maintain within my current system.
Context is Everything - Context is often important for me in learning and thinking. What date did I write this note, what was I reading at the time, who was I talking to? All of that comes from my use of the daily notes page in Roam and I can then easily pull those references into Curiosity Trails
Atomic Thinking - Roam has ruined me for any other kind of thinking. The bullet structure reminds me to think in the most atomic way. Then I can pull these atomic thoughts together in multiple ways as modules that make up trains of thought - [the modular creator]

This is my experiment into digital gardens as a way to learn about them and get lost in some rabbit holes that I might not necessarily write about in blogs & published material. I'm starting to think that not everything needs to be a blog post, and there might be some value in publishing these unfinished, often fragmented thoughts and watching them grow.
